MEDcare urgent care clinics in South Carolina will be part of HCA CareNow urgent care, owned and operated by HCA Healthcare, on June 1, 2026.

Beginning June 1, 2026, MEDcare urgent care centers will be rebranded to HCA CareNow and become part of a larger urgent care network that includes sister clinics like CareNow® urgent care.

Here are answers to questions you may have about the change.

Is the name changing?

Yes. Existing clinics will be rebranded to HCA CareNow urgent care.

Why do I see CareNow® urgent care or other urgent care names in communications?

MEDcare urgent care locations are transitioning to HCA CareNow urgent care and are part of a broader urgent care network that includes CareNow® urgent care. This allows us to leverage additional resources to better serve our patients.

Who owns HCA CareNow?

HCA CareNow is an urgent care network owned and operated by HCA Healthcare. At HCA CareNow and its sister clinics, you can expect the same convenient, compassionate care you’ve relied on from MEDcare urgent care – plus expanded access to HCA Healthcare’s network of resources.

Are all MEDcare urgent care locations staying open?

All clinics that were open prior to June 1, 2026 will remain open and ready to care for you. You can expect high-quality healthcare regardless of the location you choose. Find a location near you.

Are you changing your hours?

Not at this time. We will continue operating during the same hours as before the transition.

Are the medical providers and other staff the same?

While you may see some new faces in our clinics, most providers will remain the same.

How do I access my medical records?

If you were seen after May 31, 2026, HCA CareNow urgent care offers access to your health history through the MyHealthONE patient portal. If you would like a copy of your medical records, you must fill out a medical release authorization form. Please visit our website for more information and to access the form.

Can you send my primary care physician information about my clinic visits?

Yes. Please be sure to include your primary physician’s name and contact information.

Are your services changing?

We will continue to offer many of the same urgent care services and occupational medicine services for businesses, from employment screenings to treatment of on-the-job injuries.

Do you still take my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid in many markets. Coverage may vary, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider for details.

Can I still check-in online?

Yes. HCA CareNow urgent care offers Web Check-In® so you can wait from anywhere. You can use Web Check-In to save your spot in line or let us know when you’re coming, and we’ll notify you when it’s time for your visit.

How can I know my estimated wait time?

Web Check-In® allows you to check in and wait from anywhere and minimize your time in the lobby. We will notify you when to come in based on current wait times.

Can I just walk in?

Of course. Walk-ins are always welcome.
