Are you doing anything adventurous over summer break? Summer is a very popular time of the year for families to set sail on a cruise. We want to make sure you have a wonderful and healthy time while aboard the ship. Be prepared for your summer cruise by following our advice:

Don’t Get Seasick

Cruises are notorious with motion sickness. A good chunk of cruisers experience the effects of motion sickness while aboard the ship. There are several, over-the-counter solutions to prevent this from ruining your fun time at sea.

See food? Seafood.

When on vacation, many of us tend to be adventurous and try new things. Before trying new foods on a cruise, make sure you are informed of any personal food allergies or reactions. Don’t risk it. Ask for food accommodation if necessary.

Let me see your report card

Just like in school, cruise ships have report cards available from the Vessel Sanitation Program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This report card provides valuable information regarding the health and sanitation of the ship such as: hygiene, ship’s condition, food and water quality, pest management and more. So before choosing your cruise ship for your next vacation, take a second to look over its report card, as it is available to the public.

Don’t drink like a fish

Vacation is definitely a reason to celebrate, but celebrating responsibly can still be enjoyable. When on vacation, temptation for alcohol increases. Make sure you don’t pass your limit and drink plenty of water in between adult beverages.

Breath easy

When sharing an area with thousands of other passengers, it’s easy to be exposed to respiratory illnesses. Prevent the spread of diseases by frequently washing your hands and receiving a flu shot prior to the cruise. Following these easy steps will help making your trip healthier and a little more enjoyable.
