Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He received his medical degree from Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and completed his residency at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Dr. Smith is board certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Smith joined CareNow in 2001 as Associate Medical Director. He was promoted to Medical Director in 2005 and has served as Regional Medical Director since 2008.
